Biography

Dr. Santiago-Moreno has a Doctoral Degree in Veterinary Sciences from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, DVM, PhD. He is a Staff Researcher at the Department of Animal Reproduction in the Spanish National Institute for Agricultural and Food Scientific Research and Technology (INIA). Head of the Laboratory of Reproductive Technologies in Wild Species. He is Member of the European Society for Domestic Animal Reproduction, Spanish Society of Animal Reproduction (AERA), and the Spanish Society of Goat and Sheep Technology. The current research interest concern the Reproductive Endocrinology of Wild and Domestic Ruminants, the spermatology in wild species, and ex situ conservation of threatened breeds/species. He has been Leader in 11 grants financed with public funds within the last 15 years which have been focused in spermatology and sperm cryobiology of threatened species, and in the use of reproductive technologies for the sustainable development of renewable natural resources. He produced more than 120 original papers in peer-reviewed journals included JCR.

His research interests include: Reproductive endocrinology, Spermatology in wild species, Ex situ conservation of wild species, Spermatology and cryopreservation in birds.
