The Show was originally created around the General Agricultural Competition for Animals. Later it grew, reflecting the changes in French agriculture each year.
It now attracts 1,300 exhibitors from 22 countries, and over 4,000 animals. The event is particularly popular with the public, who visit in large numbers. Over 650,000 visitors came to the show in 2012.
In 2013, the show will be celebrating its 50th anniversary on the theme of “agriculture at the heart”... of people... towns... the arts... and everyone !
